Chinese toilets continued...

farukp replied to your post: How to use a chinese toilet?

you wait, and wait, and hold back, and wait and find one of those “back-home toilets” or you wait, UNTIL YOU GET HOME!

You just go for it!!! Do it for the experience!!!

How to use a chinese toilet?

You drop down low and sweep the floor with it.

Hi , many thanks for answering my question. I was the one that asked you about your thoughts about having your pics taken & then having them plasted over the net. (anon, because i was tad embrassed). Oh, an another note.. ages and ages ago you blogged about one of your students who wrote a love letter ( a student crush), when i read that my instant thoughts were- woah what an amazing educator. The fact that you an indiviual were able to inspire a shy young person & forster her self confidence

* and fostering her development into a confident young person is a true testatment of who you are. We need more people like you in society. xx L

Your message was broken so I copied the end at the top.

Such a nice thing to say, Thank you.

But that girl was anon, she doesn’t know that I know. I found out because I saw her carrying an origami rose in the morning that was on my desk in the afternoon. I just taught her class just now actually. She doesn’t love me anymore she loves Chuck from Gossip Girl.

I'm curious what is "pap-ing"? Sorry I know this is completely random. But I remember when I lived in china for a month, people would stop and stare at me because I guess they are not used to seeing people of mixed ethnicity like I am I guess. But I can totally relate to the feeling of feeling like a freak show or some animal on exhibit. One day I was walking down the street and a girl came up to me and said "I don't understand what are you?", do you get a lot of that?

It is just a term I use to decribe random people taking my photo. It comes from paparazzi.

It all comes down to how you look. For example in China, natural hair is black, people are often talking about my hair because it is light, where as in England, of course, we have black, blonde, brown and ginger plus many different shades.

I find it strange because I am from England and “foreigner” actually is pretty negative where as out here people use it so frequently. Because it is so obvious I am not Chinese. People will shout it out in the street and at first I was horrified at the thought of someone doing it to someone Chinese in England but the meaning out here is so different.
